How to use it
- Enter the values from your syllabus, gradebook, notes, or plan.
- Check that percentages and totals use the same scale.
- Select Calculate and read the note below your result.
- Adjust a value to compare a different scenario.
How the calculation works
Multiply each grade point by its credits, add those quality points, then divide by total credits.
Example
A 4.0 in a 3-credit course and 3.0 in a 4-credit course gives (12 + 12) ÷ 7 = 3.43.
Tips for a more useful result
- Use exact figures instead of rounded values when they are available.
- Check your course handbook for institution-specific scales and rules.
- Treat estimates as planning aids, especially when future scores are unknown.
